President’s Letter – October 2025

Dear NAPF Community,

In September, I traveled to Maine to speak with Tucker Carlson. The interview is now available on every platform where podcasts can be found, including YouTube, X, Spotify, and more. I’ve been heartened by the overwhelmingly positive response to the message from thousands of people across the political spectrum. Many have reached out to say they were so grateful to learn about the nuclear threat. Some stated that they used to be “pro-nuclear,” but that the interview changed their mind.

We need much more of this kind of engagement, educating the general public, and then sharing this message with local, national, and global leaders. With the upcoming Netflix release of A House of Dynamite, directed by Kathryn Bigelow and seemingly based on Annie Jacobsen’s book Nuclear War: A Scenario, we have an opportunity to push for action in our own communities and country, as well as across the world. The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons recently passed the mark of more than half of all UN member states being signatory states or parties to the treaty. We need both internal and external pressure on nuclear armed states to shift direction.

We also need resources to be able to amplify our reach and take the message to where it needs to be heard, from podcast studios to the halls of Congress and the United Nations. Please support our work in this critical moment. Every donation counts and the more of them we get – at any level – the easier it will be to reach our funding goals. We cannot do this work without you!

As always, I hope you’ll peruse our resources below, including by watching the Tucker Carlson interview. Check out information about our amazing Evening for Peace and the Choose Hope Symposium in Hiroshima, co-organized with Soka Gakkai International, and much more!

With love and gratitude,

Ivana N. Hughes
President, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation
