Vietnam’s official news agency VietnamPlus (Vietnam News Agency) reported on the March 5 discussion at the United Nations marking the International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness.
The event was co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan and co-sponsored by the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation (NAPF), Columbia University’s Frontiers of Science Program, and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Over 70 diplomats, scholars, students, and representatives of international organizations attended the discussion in New York.
Speaking at the debate, Minister-Counsellor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to advancing nuclear disarmament and preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The discussion emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation, dialogue, and public awareness in addressing the growing risks posed by nuclear weapons and global conflicts.
