Sadako Peace Day: August 6, 2020

Keynote Speaker

Toshiharu Kano is perhaps the youngest hibakusha from Hiroshima. His mother was pregnant with him when the United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima less than a half-mile from their home.


Bob Sedivy will play music on the shakuhachi, an ancient Japanese bamboo flute.


Sojourner Kincaid Rolle, Poet Laureate of Santa Barbara from 2015-17, will read a poem.


Perie Longo, NAPF Board member and former Poet Laureate of Santa Barbara, will read a poem.


David Krieger, NAPF President Emeritus, will read a poem.


Sandy Jones, NAPF’s Director of Communications, and Hal Maynard will perform an original song.
