Every year, the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation holds an to remember the tragic story of Sadako Sasaki and all of the other victims of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This year, the 32nd Annual Sadako Peace Day will be held on August 6, 2026 at 6pm in the Sadako Peace Garden at La Casa De Maria in Montecito, CA. Please join us remembering and paying tribute to the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We reflect on the tragedies of the past to inform and build a future free of nuclear weapons.

This year, Sadako Peace Day is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Jimmy Hara. Dr. Jimmy Hara, a physician, educator, and lifelong nuclear abolition advocate, was deeply inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki which “solidified why [he] dedicated [his] life to this cause.”
