
Christian N. Ciobanu
Director of Policy and Advocacy and RTT Coordinator
Christian N. Ciobanu is the Director of Policy and Advocacy of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation and the Project Coordinator for Reverse the Trend: Save Our People, Save Our Planet. He is also a Kim Koo Fellow at the Korea Society. He has been a nuclear disarmament activist since 2010. Previously, he served as the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation’s Geneva and New York representative and an advisor for the Permanent Mission of the Marshall Islands. As an advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Marshall Islands, he participated in the 2015 NPT Review Conference and the 2017 United Nations Conference to negotiate a legally binding instrument to prohibit nuclear weapons, leading towards their total elimination.
Christian is also serving as an advisor on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) for the Permanent Mission of Kiribati, where he works extensively with the Co-Chairs of the Intersessional Informal Working Group on Articles 6 and 7 of the TPNW.
Ciobanu holds an MA in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (Monterey, CA) and an MA in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva, Switzerland).
