Dear David,

My most sincere thanks to the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation and everyone involved with making Think Outside the Bomb such an incredible reality. I am extremely grateful that I was selected to take part in the conference. The persons I met and the knowledge I acquired are priceless and will stay with me indefinitely.

Your panel presentation was one of the most in tune with my area of interest and concern. I’ve learned that the 13 practical steps of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty were said to be the “guiding star” for the United States in 2000, but unfortunately it appears the situation has changed. You helped to inform a very committed group of individuals about this issue and hopefully we will be able to make advances.

I found all of the panelists to be thought-provoking and very informative, and they have provided me with many paths to pursue further. It is obvious to me that a significant amount of time was put forth to ensure such high quality panel discussions, and the effort generated an amazing return. All of the work done by NAPF to organize the conference has my unending appreciation. Michael Coffey deserves more thanks than could possibly be given, for organizing the conference and for always being kind and considerate during the week. He could not have been more thoughtful and genuinely interested in ensuring everyone’s time at the conference was as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. From my vantage point, he succeeded admirably with the help of all the facilitators. I’m glad I was able to meet and interact with each of them.

The scope of the diversity of ideas, activities and expertise of each of the individuals present at the conference is what made it most enjoyable for me. The speakers, facilitators and participants each had an amazing wealth of knowledge and experience to share, and I gained much from it. I will never forget the bonds I formed at the conference, and will always appreciate that NAPF provided me with the opportunity to form them.

I can imagine that Think Outside the Bomb was quite expensive, but I hope you realize that to myself, at least, the information, brilliance, perspectives, and relationships we were exposed to and acquired, and the success these intangibles will help us to attain are all worth much more than money can even come close to measuring.

With hope,

Andrew Hable
