Each day participants alternated meeting in regional, e.g., northeastern, southern, Midwest, etc., and issue-oriented working groups, e.g., weapons, waste, or energy. These small group sessions provided participants with an opportunity to discuss earlier presentations, personalize lessons learned, and draft action plans for the following year and beyond. Conference organizers helped facilitate these meetings and some guest speakers contributed as well. Facilitators encouraged participants to include the following components in their action plans: a personal mission statement, proposed activity, activity goals, expected results, timeline, a list of key people involved, and a budget. |
