2008 Swackhamer Video Contest


The 2008 contest winners have been announced. You can see their entries HERE.

Eligibility: The contest is open to people of all ages.

Topic: US Leadership for a Nuclear Weapons-Free World. There are about 26,000 nuclear weapons in the world today. Use your creativity to make a short video about why US leadership is necessary to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.

Awards: 1st Place: $1,000
                2nd Place: $750
                3rd Place: $250        
                5 Honorable Mentions

Deadline: All entries must be received electronically by 5:00 pm Pacific Time on June 16, 2008.

Rules: A submission that does not adhere to all of the contest rules will not be considered for an award.

  1. Contest begins on April 2, 2008
  2. Submission must be in English (if language is used).
  3. Submission must not exceed 3 minutes in length.
  4. Submission must be on topic.
  5. Submission must not contain foul language or slander.
  6. Contestants must upload video entries to the 2008 Swackhamer Contest YouTube page.
  7. Contestants must submit the official entry form as described below.
  8. Winners will be responsible for providing NAPF with a high-resolution copy of their video.

 

How to Enter: Join the YouTube group at www.youtube.com/group/2008Swackhamer. Once you have uploaded your video on the YouTube page, fill out the contest entry form. You will need to include your video’s URL on your entry form.

Judging: A committee of filmmakers and educators selected by the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation will judge entries on the basis of originality of ideas, creativity and clarity of expression. Winners will be announced on July 15, 2008.

All Rights Reserved: All submissions become the property of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation and may be used by the Foundation on its website or in publications. All products resulting from the winning proposals become the property of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. The Foundation reserves the right to publish or broadcast all submissions to the contest.
