1. Peace Education Project Volunteer

You can help keep our schools safe! Become a Peace Education Project Volunteer in Santa Barbara.

For 15 years, the Peace Education Project (PEP) has been teaching the elementary school children in Santa Barbara, CA how to solve conflicts peacefully.

We present lessons in:

  • Awareness of self-worth and caring for others
  • Cooperation
  • Understanding discrimination and stereotyping
  • Peaceful conflict resolution, and
  • Countering bullying

using storytelling, singing, puppetry, art, paper construction, discussion, games and role-playing. Teachers find that the program fulfills a need and have requested “repeat performances.”

Add more satisfaction to your life and add peace to the Santa Barbara community by volunteering as an educator (you will be trained until you are comfortable in the classroom), a curriculum planner, a publicity writer, or a coordinator.
